Two SA Fifa gamers become first Africans to qualify in R7m global tournament
Two of South Africa’s finest Fifa gamers are in London, England, awaiting their moment of glory as they prepare to compete for a share of $500 000 (R7.7 million) over three days.
Julio Bianchi and Kaylan Moodley will represent the country at the official Fifa Team Of The Season (TOTS) Cup from April 29 to May 1. They will be competing against 32 other teams from around the world.
It’s the first time South African gamers are given a chance to gain direct entry to the tournament with their own qualifiers, which Bianchi and Moodley won.
